The biggest buildings in the world – by volume – Boeing Factory, USA

In terms of volume and usable space, the Boeing Everett Factory in Washington, United States, is the biggest construction in the world. It was constructed in 1967 to facilitate the assembly of aircraft. Therefore, this factory was built for the Boeing 747 and has since been expanded several times to accommodate new airliners, including the 767, 777, and 787 programs.

The Boeing Everett Factory is located on the northeast corner of Paine Field. The entire complex spans both sides of State Route 526, which is named the Boeing Freeway.  Also, the Boeing Factory is 472.370.319 cubic feet and covers 98.3 acres. 

Around 15,000 people work in this factory, which uses a million light bulbs. Therefore, the factory doesn’t need a heating system. Also, highly heated machinery in the factory creates more than enough energy to heat the factory. The Boeing Everett Factory has many safety features, including its fire station, police station, and medical center, due to its size and the quantity of dangerous work required.

The biggest buildings in the world – by usable floor area – New Century Global Center, China

New Century Global Center is the biggest construction in the world in terms of floor area. It is a multipurpose building in the Tianfu New Area of Chengdu, Sichuan, China. The building was developed by billionaire Deng Hong’s Entertainment and Travel Group (ETG). 

The new Century Global Center was opened in 2013 with 1,700,000 square meters. The space of the shopping complex in the building is almost 400,000 square meters in size. Around the edge of the complex,  the new Intercontinental Hotel is also located in blocks 6 & 8 of the building with 1009 rooms. The building also houses offices, conference rooms, a university complex, two commercial centers, hotels, an IMAX cinema, a “Mediterranean village,” a pirate ship, and an Olympic-size skating rink. 

Also, builders designed the center of the building as Paradise Island Water Park, featuring a 5,000 square-meter artificial beach and a huge 150 by a 40-meter screen that displays sunrises and sunsets and covers the horizon. At night, a stage extends out over the pool for concerts. Also, builders constructed a stand overlooking the pool with a food court and entrance at the floor level and connected the center to Line 1 of the Chengdu Metro.

The tallest buildings in the world –  Burj Khalifa, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Asia Continent

The Burj Khalifa tower is the tallest building in the world, located in downtown Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Therefore, this skyscraper has a massive 2,717 feet in height. In 2010, developers opened this tower which comprises 163 floors. Several Luxury apartments. Therefore, developers housed high-end hotels, fine-dine restaurants, and corporate suites in this massive tower.

Apart from that, this building holds various world records, such as the highest observation deck, the tallest service elevator in the world, the tallest free-standing structure, the highest number of stories, the elevator with the longest distance, and the highest occupied floors.

The One World Trade Center is the tallest building in the USA and was opened in 2014. The building has 104 stories and is 1776 feet high. 

One World Trade Center is a secure, environmentally friendly, and dynamically artistic structure. It is the highest skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere and is already an iconic New York landmark. The architect of this building is Mr. David M. Childs, who serves as the consulting design partner at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. 

This building has 3 million rentable square feet of space and a 55-foot office lobby. Also, this building’s Life-safety systems far exceed the New York City building code.

The tallest buildings in Europe’s Continent – The Lakhta Center, St. Petersburg, Russia.

Builders constructed the 87-story Lakhta Center, the tallest building in Europe, in the northwestern neighborhood of Lakhta in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The Lakhta Center is located in the historic district of the Primorsky area. People regard the structure as the world’s most northern skyscraper because of its geographic location. Therefore, construction crews started building it in 2012 and completed it in 2019. This building is 462 meters tall, and in 2017, it topped Moscow’s Vostok Tower to become the highest structure in Russia and Europe. Additionally,  RMJM and Gorproject initially created the project to build a substantial center that combines office space and public facilities and continued the project.

The tower’s facade is made of glass and aluminum. It is durable and looks very impressive. Builders made the tower’s spire over 100 m high using steel.

The tallest buildings in the African continent –  the Leonardo in Johannesburg, South Africa

The tallest construction in Africa is the Leonardo in Johannesburg, South Africa. It is 234 meters (768 ft) high and has 55 floors. This is a mixed-use building and was completed in 2019.

Also, this construction has shops on the ground floor and an above-ground podium with a restaurant, a pool, and other amenities. The public can make reservations about the amenities using Legacy Hotels & Resorts.

The tallest building in the Australian Continent – Queensland Number One, Queensland.

During Queensland’s 150th birthday celebrations, people recognized this landmark as one of the state’s icons.

The tallest building in the Latin American Continent – Torres Obispado, Monterrey, Mexico

Torres Obispado, Spanish for Bishopric Towers or Diocese Towers, is a skyscraper in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. Also, this is the tallest construction on the Latin American Continent. Also, developers built T.Op Torre 1 as a 305.3 m tall mixed-use supertall skyscraper and T.Op Torre 2 as a 156 m residential skyscraper. Additionally, T.Op Torre 1 became the tallest skyscraper in Latin America, the first to surpass a height of 300 m (1,000 ft), and the 25th tallest skyscraper in North America.

Developers combined a Hilton Garden Inn, restaurants, office space, and residences in T.Op Torre 1 and dedicated T.Op Torre 2 primarily for residential use.

 The tallest building in Mumbai -Palais Royale, Mumbai, India.

Palais Royale is the third tallest structure in India. It is a residential supertall skyscraper project located in Worli, Mumbai, India. This is 320 meters. It has 88 stories, and the construction of this building started in 2008. However,  the constructions are held.  On completion, the building would have 120 apartments ranging in size between 740 and 1,300 square meters.

Is there a 500-story building?

A hypothetical supertall skyscraper, the Ultima Tower, comprises 500 stories and is 3.2 kilometers tall if built. 

This tower’s concept and design belong to American architect Eugene Tsui, who conceptualized and designed it in 1991. Additionally, envisioners plan to build The Ultima Tower in San Francisco, California, with a capacity of one million people.
